The Broken snare : [the story of a frontier family]

Summary: The true story of a man in his late forties who turned his back on civilization and rode into unsettled country far beyond Fort St. John in northern B.C. He surveyed the land on horseback, staked a claim, and was soon felling the trees on the site to build a homestead cabin that became a successful cattle ranch. The Broken Snare tells of a modern pioneer who with the help of his family, transforms the wilderness into a thriving cattle ranch in the Upper Cache Creek region but finally must leave when oil is discovered nearby.
